Leafly recently redesigned their dispensary menu experience, and I wrote the UX copy.
One of Leafly’s goals is to help people find nearby cannabis shops and dispensaries. The old dispensary profiles and menus were outdated and tricky to navigate, and the menu page was hidden behind an extra click.
Here’s what we were working with:

When users finally made it to a store’s menu, they were greeted with a daunting amount of information.

Not pictured: the hundreds upon hundreds of rows of menu items. If you’re interested in time travel, you can see an old Leafly menu in action on the Wayback Machine.
This project was one of those unicorn projects where everyone’s goals aligned perfectly: Success meant driving more menu views.
To give the people (and Leafly’s dispensary partners) what they wanted, we put the menu front and center, and pulled out the filtering and sorting features to make them easier and more intuitive to use.

Here are some close-ups from the new menu.
